Great detail. I love how the abs slowly fade into that gut! =D |
Pop Culture Shock is releasing their latest edition of the
Street Fighter quarter scale statue series. Slated for shipping Dec 2015, the world's greatest sumo wrestler and an original world warrior, E. Honda comes to life in gigantic, solid polystone form. Weighing a whopping 20lbs, the statue measures nearly 40cm high. But does bulk add up to a great statue?

Look at that detail! I love how the abs fade into that gut! =D |
From the press release pictures, E. Honda looks rather good compared to the others from Pop Culture Shock. More notably, the 2 items I've been very concerned about in this Street Fighter series have been the treatment of hair and facial sculpts. E. Honda displays a great progression of Pop Culture Shock's technique and design overall, including hair and facial treatment. Comparably, with the other statues in the Street Fighter Series, E.Honda is rather striking but just shy of being the best looking Statue from this series, with Sagat still reigning supreme (IMO).

The sculpt and treatment of E.Honda's face and hair is better than previous statues. |

A great statue, however the facial sculpt and hair treatment felt lacking.#nitpicker |

The best of the Pop Culture Shock statues, from sculpt, design and treatment, Sagat is outstanding. |
Overall, E.Honda is a solid figure, well designed and true to the character. It's a great looking example and would make a great addition to your collection. The only issue I see is... IT'S E.HONDA!!! To be honest, he isn't the most popular of characters and is probably the reason the limited this series to 500 as oppose to others with much higher editions in the past. A true fan wouldn't complain... and for some reason I'm craving noodles.
